How to Make Burasa
Burasa is a typical food from South Sulawesi region that has a savory taste. Burasa made from a mixture of rice and coconut milk then wrapped in banana leaves. Usually burasa found at the event of Eid fitri, Eid adha and other events. Here's the ingredients of burasa: 1 liter of good quality rice, 3 bay leaves (washed), 3/4 liters of coconut milk, salt to taste, banana leaf to wrap it adequately, straps for fastener. And here is how to make burasa: Wash rice with water until thoroughly clean, then drain.
Then steam the rice until half cooked. Boil the coconut milk with salt
and bay leaf. Add a little water and let stand to boil while stirring. Enter the steamed rice.
Stir constantly until coconut milk is completely permeated with rice.
After mixed well, take the dough sufficiently and wrap it with banana
leaf. Fold both ends of the banana leaf in order to be completely sealed
and then tie with a 3-4 bond strap (do this process to completion).
Then steam again the already wrapped rice until it is completely cooked
and chewy for about 40 minutes. Burasa is ready to be serve.
