The Inauguration of FLASHL16HT



Students of English Education Department, Teaching and Science Faculty, Alauddin State Islamic University 2016 spent 23 millions to hold an inauguration by the theme “The Lights Gather Us” at one of Makassar’s luxury hotel, Swiss Belinn Panakkukang, Makassar, South Celebes and was attended by more than 800 invited guests on Friday night (05/19/2017). 

The first performance was Angaru’, then continued to Padduppa Dance and later opening by the masters of ceremony who wear the traditional dress of buginese.

The coordinator of agendum, Fahmi Satria who also perform as one of the masters of ceremony stated that, “The concept that we want to show in this inauguration is art and culture, which still look traditional yet contemporary”.

“I personally love something unique and different. Even though there are some people say that students of English Education Department act more likely the western people, but still I want to show that students of English Education Department love Indonesia”, he added.

According to the theme, the students of English Education Department 2016 was performed a great performance, that is Handmime to declare their generation name as a FLASHL16HT, Friendship Leads Us as a Team. Besides, the inauguration was also performed a Vocal Group who sang a traditional song of Makassar, Anging Mammiri with a little bit arrangement, Percussion, Theater, Traditional Dances such as Toraja Dance and 4 Ethnics Dance and.Contemporary Dance as the final performance.

The vice of the chief of English Students of Association who present at that night said that, “The performances is awesome and it amazed me. I hope that after the event, they will be more solid than before”.

The supporting factor of the event was the sound of drum and traditional bedug from LSBM Estetika who was have an opportunity to accompany some dance performances of Students of English Education Department 2016.

The chief of LSBM Estetika, Aladin Mohd. Wardyan Al-Mukhtasin stated that, “For some weeks having practice together, they are face a lots of joy and sorrow such as the schedule that running until late at night and so on”. 

“More than that, the most impressive performance is from the Vocal Group that spend preparation time just for two days”, he argued.

In the event, there was a sharing session that distinguish the event with other events. The sharing session that delivered by Muh. Syarif Hidayatullah was discussed how to study in overseas and get a scholarship.

Hajrawati Gama, a law student, argued that, “The sharing session should not be showed in this kind of event. It is because it has nothing to do with the event and also everyone could access that kind of information easily”.

Reza Darwis, a law student, argued that, “The greeting of the Chief of English Students of Association should not be spoken in English, it is because not all the invited guests are able and understand English, so it would be good if the Chief of English Students of Association speak in Bahasa so the invited guests are able to understand it. But more than that, the Handmime performance is so entertaining than other performance”

The agendum which was running for four hours reap praise and critic from the Secretary of English Education Department, Sitti Nurpahmi, S.Pd., M.Pd.



“The performance is awesome yet entertaining. I am impressed by the Handmime performance while the Percussion Performance a little less that satisfactory, perhaps it is because the stage atmosphere less conducive”, said her.

Indah Miftah Awaliah, S.S., M.Hum., one of the lecturers of English Education Department said that she was entertained with the performance.
 
“The Inauguration is so entertaining. It feels that I watch the performance of the professional performer. But unfortunately, I am little bit disappointed with the Theater. Perhaps, it is because my basic is literature, that is way it seen that they are less in the movement. And also, the story is little bit assert, unnatural, and probably need more detail preparation but overall, they are doing well”, said her.

The sponsor of the event was Gee Artwear and Trenum Clothing. Both of sponsor was give away doorprize to the lucky invited guest.

BURASA'

Burasa is one of the typical food of Bugis and Makassar people in South Sulawesi. This food is also known as lontong or buras. The shape is almost similar to lontong but the buras is slightly flattened and cooked in a way its own. Soto Ayam is one of main course in Indonesia. It is easy to find in Indonesia and also easy to make. It is usually served with warm rice.
