Sikaporo, The Delicious Traditional Cake of Buginese
Sikaporo is one of traditional cakes of Buginese. It
is usually served in party of Buginese, such as wedding party and ‘Aqiqah’
party. But, if you want to taste its delicious, here are the simple ways to
make Sikaporo.
The first thing to do is prepare the ingredients,
such as 10 yolks, 5 eggs white, 250 grams of sugar, 300 cc of coconut milk, 10
tablespoons of rice flour, 1 packs of yellow jelly and green jelly, and ½ teaspoons
of food coloring, in this case we use yellow.
After all the ingredients already prepared, time to
make the cake. To make the cake, we divided into two dough. The first dough is
the green color and the second dough is the yellow color.
For the green dough, mix well the 5 tablespoons of
rice flour, 1 packs of green jelly, 125 grams of sugar, white egg and 150 cc
coconut milk to the container. Prepare the cake mold and pour the dough to it. Then,
steam it until cooked.
The next is for the yellow dough. To make the yellow
dough, mix well the 5 tablespoons of rice flour, 1 packs of yellow jelly, 125
grams of sugar, yolk and 150 cc coconut milk to the container. Prepare the cake
mold and pour the dough to it. Then, steam it until cooked.
After both the yellow dough and green dough well
cooked, pour the yellow dough to the cake mold of green dough that already set
and steam it again until well cooked. Slice it and put it on the plate. The Sikaporo
is ready to be served with a cup of tea.
